Natanyah Forbes is a bold and versatile actor, writer, and performer whose work spans theatre, film, comedy, and puppetry. Known for her emotionally rich and physically expressive performances, she brings dynamic presence to both stage and screen.
Recently, Natanyah starred in the short film It Gets Dark, shortlisted at the Inner West Film Festival, and performed as a drag king in My Kink is Homicide at the Factory Theatre, showcasing her daring comedic and theatrical range.
A trained and instinctive stage actor, Natanyah has tackled iconic roles like Lady Macbeth, Romeo, Hermia, and Trinculo with Dire Theatre Company’s schools incursion program. She brought vocal power and emotional grit to Christine in American Psycho at the IPAC Theatre, and lit up the stage in the co-devised, sell-out production Clitorosity, Cocktastrophies, and Other Things You Can’t Get Your Mouth Around at the Sydney & Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.
As a puppeteer, Natanyah has wowed audiences with full-body dinosaurs and dragons, a 6-foot marionette-style great white shark, and innovative medium-scale hand and rod puppets with ERTH Visual & Physical Inc. Most recently, she served as head of creatures puppeteer for Crawler by Hokum Productions, embodying arachnidian spider form puppets.
On the comedy circuit, her cheeky humour has landed Natanyah spots at Kiama Kiss Arts Festival, Yours and Owls, the MerrigongX Artists’ Program, and comedy rooms across Sydney & The Illawarra.
